ROBERTO MONTIEL
professional home inspector

ROBERTO MONTIEL has the distinction of being a professional home inspector and bilingual in Spanish and English. A native of El Salvador, he immigrated to the United States in 1977. After a 24 year career as a mason and having his own company, he decided to utilize his uncommonly fine communication skills and broad knowledge of home building by becoming a home inspector. He successfully completed the Building Spec home inspector course and, during October 2001, completed our on-the-job training to qualify to perform home inspections and environmental testing for Alban. Roberto’s ability to communicate in Spanish is especially satisfying for his Hispanic home buying clients and all have raved about his work. He is a presenter for the home inspection process for the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) in Maryland and DC for new home buyers. Roberto is a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors. He is also a BPI certified energy auditor.

Steve Fletcher
Construction Inspector

Steve Fletcher is a fully trained and licensed home inspector coming to Alban with a fantastic resume. Steve had a remarkable 40-year career for Bechtel, traveling extensively nationally and internationally as a construction inspector. The first paragraph of his resume reads “Extensive Construction, Environment, Safety and Health experience working on unique and diverse global projects. Experience includes Power, Telecommunications, Space and Fence, Oil, Gas and Chemical, and Mining and Metals (on projects for) Shell, Chevron, AT&T, Sprint, RTA, BHP-B, U.S. public utilities, Conoco Phillips and the U.S. Air Force as clients.” I was immediately impressed when Sandy Watkins, Alban’s President, and I had lunch with Stephen. His confidence, quiet demeanor, intelligence, and knowledge of residential construction shined brightly. I know that you and your clients will likewise be impressed and pleased to have Steve Fletcher on their side, given his extensive inspection quality-control background. The feedback we are getting reinforces our confidence that Steve is a blessing for his clients and their Realtors. He and his wife live in Walkersville, so he is well positioned to provide his home inspection customers with convenient service.
