Questions 5: Does the home inspector avoid a conflict of
interest by being a full time professional home inspector?
Lee Eyler is our only part-time home inspector and he is a
nationally certified ASHI home inspector. He works weekdays
repairing heavy construction equipment. He has a conflict of
interest if a client needs a home inspection and repair of a
bulldozer or backhoe and that has not happened yet. Rudy Rudacil
has a Maryland contractor’s license so he can do work on houses
he purchases for his own account. ASHI’s Code of Ethics
prohibits him from performing work on a home inspection client’s
property. Besides, he’s too busy to find time even if he wanted
to.
Every Alban home inspector views himself as a professional
charged every day with educating and protecting our clients. We
truly believe our mission statement:
The primary mission of an Alban home inspector is to educate our
client about every aspect of the property. Our secondary mission
during the inspection is to recognize, analyze and report to our
client any defects both verbally and in writing. Alban
inspectors will conduct a thorough inspection of the property
from foundation to roof, inside and out, to identify existing or
potential problems that could affect our client’s long-term
investment.” |
